Short Everest Base Camp Trek

An early morning flight from Kathmandu will take you directly to Lukla airport also known as Tenzing-Hillary airport. From there the trial goes downhill towards Dudh Koshi River. The trek then goes through beautiful landscapes and farmlands. A few hour walk will take you to Phakding village. Overnight at Phakding. 

The trek begins after a nice morning breakfast at Phakding. The trial today is relatively harder than that of yesterday as you will be ascending towards Namche. Following the bank of Dudh Koshi River you will cross a suspension bridge and then you will pass by the entrance of Sagarmatha National park at Monjo.  The trek then passes through dense forests and villages. A final steep climb will take you to Namche Bazaar.

Today you will have a rest day in Namche Bazaar for acclimatization. You will hike to Everest view hotel for the sunrise view and have breakfast there. After that you will trek back to Namche Bazaar and roam around the market. Namche Bazaar is also a home to the most of the Sherpa’s engaged in tourism in Nepal.  You will also visit the Everest photo gallery and museum in Namche Bazaar. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

After breakfast we commence our today’s trek with short gradual walk until it goes down to Phungi Thanga. After that the trials goes uphill ascending through dense forest of Rhododendron and pine trees. The mesmerizing views of towering peaks, Everest (8848m) Nuptse (7855m) Lhotse (8618m) Amadablam (6856m) Thamserku (6608m) Kwongde (6187m) and Tawache(6542m) will be complementing you along the way. Upon reaching Tengboche you will visit the largest monastery of Khumbu region, Tengboche Monastery. The views from here are awe-inspiring. Overnight at Tengboche.

The trek to Dingboche begins after a short breakfast. The trial first descends through a beautiful forest after then cross Imja River via suspension bridge. The trial today is probably the easiest of your trek but you may encounter dusty trials along the way. You can spot the local animals grazing in the fields during the trials. .Your overnight stay will be in Dingboche.

After breakfast; the trek begins for the first one hour the trek goes steep and then goes gentle until Thugla. Along the trials splendid views of the snow capped peaks can be seen. After a short break at Thugla for lunch you’ll continue to the steep trial that takes you to the Thugla Pass from Pheriche. There you can see the stone memorials in the memory of unfortunate climbers who lost their life during Everest Expedition. A short gradual walk from here will take you to Lobuche. It is a small settlement near Mount Everest.  Overnight at Lobuche.

After an early morning breakfast you will head towards Gorakshep. It takes about 3 to 4 hours to reach Gorakshep from Lobuche. The trial is steep and you’ll have to cross multiple moraines. After crossing Changri Nup and Changri Shar Glacier you will reach to Gorak Shep.

Lobuche to EBC, back to Gorakshep.

You will have a short rest at Gorak Shep and then the final trek to Everest Base Camp begins. You will be reaching the destination of your bucket list in few hours.  The trial gently goes upward and steep. You can see the breathtaking view of the Khumbu Icefall along the trial.  You will return back to Gorakshep from there and back to Pheriche. Overnight at Pheriche.

From Pheriche you will hike to Kalapatthar which is the highest view point on earth. From there you will see the eye catching view of Everest and other neighboring mountains.  After spending some moments there you will return back to Pangboche today. Today’s trial will be long and tiring one. Overnight in Pangboche. 

You will trek back to Namche Bazaar today after having breakfast. You be losing a lot of height today and the trials are much easier. The trial at first goes downhill to a bridge and then an hour climb will take you to Tengboche monastery. The trial then descends to Imjatse River and then ascends to Sanasa and a gradual path will take you to Namche with short ups and downs. Overnight at Namche.

After an early morning breakfast at Namche you will head forward to Lukla. The trial today has both ups and downs. You will pass through lush jungles and walk through beautiful pine forests, villages and pastures. A few hours climb from Phakding will take you to Lukla. Overnight at Lukla.
